A Little Scrap Therapy...

Blog hopping can be dangerous. Browsing around out there in blog land, I ran across some beautiful scrapbook pages, and well, I got the itch. I've gotten way behind in my scrapping, and so I've been putting it off because I had so many pages to do it seemed overwhelming. (how's that for a run on sentence...) I was long over due for some Scrap Therapy! I dug into my stash of papers and had me a good ole time. Ahhh. I feel so much better now.

I told you I was behind - this was last November.

And these pictures were taken when Jackson was 4 years old. It's about time I got busy.

I also made up a little wedding card for some friends who are getting married this week.
Maybe I should keep blog hopping to stay inspired! Than maybe I could get caught up...

Here it is...

My "NEW" Scrap Station! I think I'm in love...
Isn't it the perfect mate to my little chair? It's amazing to me what some people will nearly throw away. Yep, I found this antique desk on craigslist. It even had a light already mounted in it. I wish I had taken a before picture, but I was too excited to tear into it that I didn't stop to shoot a picture. It was a weird pale yellow color, and I painted it the same color as the chair. It fits great in the end of the kitchen, so now I have all my stuff in a convenient spot. I'm lovin' it!This little red toile box is from Hobby Lobby (they're around 10 dollars for the small ones). I really needed some more but didn't wanna fork over the dough, so....
I took a good look at the one that I had and made the following deduction. It's nothing more than an ordinary old shoe box. So off to my closet I went, and found 4 empty Clark's shoe boxes. (Just one more reason to buy Clark's. Love 'em Love 'em!!) Then I got some fabric scraps out of my stash and hot glued it on. No more difficult than wrapping a present. Then finished them off with some ribbon and some label holders. Because I'm all about organization.

And VOILA! I saved myself about 50 bucks. YeeHaw.

So, would you like a tour?
You would?!
Great! Cuz I was gonna take you on one anyway.

The top drawer is home to all my cutters.

The top side drawer is divided into 2 parts: adhesives, and misc embellishments.

The next drawer is full of ribbons and various sorts of fibers.

And I even took over one of the kitchen cabinets for all my papers, stickers, and rub ons. The baskets on the top shelf of the desk are full of punches. And I used some of my pink hobnail glasses to hold scissors, pens, etc. So far it's working great. I am one happy girl. And I am officially a firm believer in Craigslist!

Finished Object Friday...a little more scrappin'

For my "Finished Object Friday" this week, I pulled out some of the pages I made several months ago. They've since been auctioned off on Ebay.
I loved making the overalls on this little boy bear.
These ladybug pages could be laid out this way...
Or this way. (I love to work with these bright colors.)
I also like the softer colors...you know, I just like all kinds of colors. The rhinestone snowflakes really add to this "Snow Sweet" page. I have fun putting in little details, like the "fur" in the little girl's boots. She even has shoe laces!
Be sure to visit Chari's blog for more crafty projects!

Post Number 100 !!!

When I started this whole blogging thing, I never thought anyone would actually be interested. I still can't believe it when I glance over there to my "counter". Has this piddly little site actually been visited over 12 thousand times?! Wow, I've even managed to snag a few "followers". I don't know what brings you back time after time, but let me say THANK YOU!
Thank you all for taking the time to read my silly posts, and thank you for all of the kind comments that have been left. Sometimes, those comments are just the "pick-me-up" that I need. This blog has actually been sort of a therapy for me. I am NOT an outgoing person, I have a terrible time talking to people, and so through the years I have kept to myself, and stayed in my own little comfort zone. But when I type, I can talk. I guess because nobody's standing right there in front of me, intimidating me. So it has been good for me. I have a much easier time "meeting " friends through cyber space.

So to celebrate the 100th post and to say THANK YOU to all you readers,

*add a little space for suspense*

*and a little more space...*

I have a prize to giveaway! I created a 2 page scrapbook layout called "Fall Fun". All you gotta do is add your own photos or journaling.

I've grown kinda partial to this little guy, I might just have to make one for myself.
Everything on these pages (except the flowers) is handmade. So it's truly an original!
All you have to do to enter is leave a comment under this post. We'll put the numbers in a hat and draw one out to pick the winner. I guess we need a few rules, huh? Lets see... Okay, One entry per person, no entries after midnight Saturday night. Winner will be announced right here, Monday morning.

Good Luck!!

Summer Scraps

I've been messing around with digital scrapping for the first time. It's pretty addictive! Here are some pages I'm making for a summer album:

I used scrapblog.com. It's free and you can save your pages as a JPEG image or share them online as an album slideshow. It's almost as much fun as buying a new pair of shoes! ;-)

Scrap Party!

I have started having scrapping parties, or "classes", at my house. We had our second one last week, but I failed to get any pictures of it. There are 5 or 6 of us that get together and we have a great time, don't we gals? I wish that I had taken pictures of our glorious mess....it was great.
This is the page that I made at our last get together. Maybe next time I can get a picture of all of us and our projects!

Scrapbooking ...

I've discovered a fun way to make a little extra spending money. I'm in this kick right now of selling premade scrapbook pages on Ebay ( which happens to be one of my favorite places!) It's funny what people will pay you to do the work for them! I thought I would share some of the ones that went over pretty good.

"Cute As Can Bee"
"Down on The Farm"
This one was really fun to do, I made the barn doors open for more photo mats, and added "real" curtains.
This one was called "Mom" for Mother's Day.
"Lucky to Have You"
I'm starting to run out of ideas for new projects. Anybody have any good ones I can try? I'm starting on a lady bug layout next, if I can find enough time to finish it!
Thanks for all the nice comments about my bathroom! You guys make me feel almost like a little Martha Stewart... well, maybe just a little :) After all, this isn't exactly a Home and Garden page!

Scrapbooking, Etc.

Here is the product of my last scrap session. I really had fun with this one. It's called " One Brave Little Patient". I bought a new sewing machine this past weekend and I learned how to use it on this page, so don't look too closely at the stitching. I'm thrilled with the new machine - it sews so much nicer (and easier) than my old one.

Speaking of Carson, he's sick again. He has a nasty cold with lots of drainage which makes his reflux that much worse. He hardly eats anything at all, and when he does, well, you know what happens. He's pretty miserable right now. David's a bit under the weather, too. He has gotten a flare up of tendonitus in his hip - he can hardly move that leg. Carson has stopped limping, so now David started it. Is there some kind of law that says everyone in our family can't all be well at the same time? Someone is always sick, or so it seems. I'm blaming it all on the cold weather - I blame everything on the cold weather.

I've Been Scrapbooking Again!

I finally attacked the stack of photos that have been waiting to be scrapbooked! I had so much fun making these pages yesterday that I decided to post them. I've discovered paper piecing and chalking, and I'm having fun with it. I especially like making the animals.

We've also been working on our church. We're in the midst of a big remodeling project. David's spending the day painting today. As soon as it's finished I will post some before and after pictures. Untill then, we have a lot of pews to refinish! My mom kept the boys for us for 4 days last weekend, so we were able to get a lot of painting done. (Thanks Mom and Pop!!!) They had a great time at Granna's house. But, our church people all commented about how dead and quiet it was in our church on Sunday! They all love the boys and really missed them while they were gone. They sure do liven things up!
This morning, Carson was eating a bowl of oatmeal and he dropped some on his shirt. He said, "Oh Brudder!" He keeps us laughing all the time!
