Happy Birthday Carson!

Carson turned 2 years old today!
He put two pennies in the birthday offering this morning at church.
We will be celebrating his birthday on New Year's Day, so I will post more pictures then.
Happy Birthday, Carson!

Christmas Smiles

Today I took some Christmas photos of the boys. They did pretty good - they have to be in just the right mood for photos. It's not their favorite thing to do! I know, I know, Carson needs a haircut - I just hate cutting it. It hides his ears a little bit. He'd be a cute little elf, wouldn't he?

Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary to my sweet husband, David! Nine years ago, today, we said "I do". Little did we know what all that would involve! We've been through a lot of things in 9 years - happy times, sad times, deaths, sicknesses, heartaches, parenting, you name it! Having a good companion makes it easier to go through all those things. He's a great husband, my best friend, and a wonderful daddy. I love you, punkin!

Huntsville in the Fall

An example of Huntsville in the fall - the "Beautiful Tennessee Valley".

Jackson took a break after hiking back down the mountain.

We had a great day for pictures yesterday, sunny and warm. I just hope some of them turned out. It's a chore to get 2 small boys to smile at the same time! It was nice just being out enjoying all the fall colors.

All 4 of us have bad colds - just in time for Thanksgiving! I had to keep Carson home from church today - he's running a fever. He had a throwing up episode today as well. Every time he gets a cold or something, it aggravates the reflux. He's a pretty miserable little boy right now. All he kept down today was a Popsicle. He did keep his medicine down though, so hopefully that will help.

We recognized our laymen in church this morning. I had a Christmas ornament for each person. (hunting ornaments for the deer hunters, gardening ornaments for the gardeners, a teddy bear ornament for a bear collector, etc.) We try to do something every year around Thanksgiving time for "Laymen Appreciation". It's kind of our answer to Pastor Appreciation. We have a great group of laymen , and we are thankful for each one of them. They all work as hard as we do.

I've Been Scrapbooking Again!

I finally attacked the stack of photos that have been waiting to be scrapbooked! I had so much fun making these pages yesterday that I decided to post them. I've discovered paper piecing and chalking, and I'm having fun with it. I especially like making the animals.

We've also been working on our church. We're in the midst of a big remodeling project. David's spending the day painting today. As soon as it's finished I will post some before and after pictures. Untill then, we have a lot of pews to refinish! My mom kept the boys for us for 4 days last weekend, so we were able to get a lot of painting done. (Thanks Mom and Pop!!!) They had a great time at Granna's house. But, our church people all commented about how dead and quiet it was in our church on Sunday! They all love the boys and really missed them while they were gone. They sure do liven things up!
This morning, Carson was eating a bowl of oatmeal and he dropped some on his shirt. He said, "Oh Brudder!" He keeps us laughing all the time!

Carson Update

Carson has been doing much better with his vomiting (reflux). It had gotten really bad for awhile - as much as 4 times a day. He was able to get in to see a pediatric gastrointerologist finally. He ordered an endoscopy for the very next morning. The test showed significant damage to his esophagus. So, the Dr put him on a very high dose of prilosec. (he's been on zantac and prevacid with no results.) The meds are supposed to heal up the damage and put an end to the vomiting. Since he's been on it we've seen great improvement. The picture is from his endoscopy. He did well with the test, but getting the IV started was another story. It took 4 needle pokes to finally hit a vein. He had bruises on his arm, his hand, and his foot from all the pokes. Needless to say, he was fighting the nurses as hard as he could and screaming as loud as he could. 4 people, plus myself, were trying to hold him down. It was about all I could take! I was ready to cry right along with him. As you can see in the pics, he was back to his happy little self as soon as he woke up.

Like Father Like Son

The love of aviation runs deep in Fogleman blood! Jackson is already a huge airplane lover. He knows the names of many different planes. David took him out to the airport to see a B-17 and a B-24. He said he wanted to stand by the "peller".

Hello Bloggers!

I am Brittany Fogleman. I have been married to David for 9 years. We have 2 little boys, Jackson - age 4, and Carson - age 22 months. We have been in the ministry for 4 years, and we are currently pastoring a wonderful little Bible Methodist Church in Hazel Green, AL. We are both loving serving the Lord here. He has blessed us with a great place to minister.

My sister in law, Heidi, and my good friend, Ellen, convinced me that this was easy to do - so here we are! Any tips or help would be so appreciated - as this is very new to me. I will attempt to add some pictures and keep everyone posted on our daily happenings. There's always something new going on in the Fogleman Family!
